STEP Orientation:
- All students must enroll in the STEP Orientation class before beginning the High School Diploma or High School Equivalency programs.
- Students can enroll in the STEP Orientation class by visiting any of our campuses.
- Upon completing the STEP Orientation class, students will meet with a Counselor or Advisor who will assist them in creating an Individualized Student Plan for earning a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
High School Diploma and High School Equivalency (ASE)
Are you interested in earning your high school diploma or a high school equivalency certificate (HiSET)? Do you need to work on your skills for career training or employment? With our Adult Secondary Education (ASE) program, students can complete a-g approved* high school courses in individualized labs (learn at your own pace) or independent study classes (learn at home). DACE counselors review student transcripts and provide options for earning a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate.
Learn:
- Academic reading skills (determining point of view, analyzing arguments, evaluating evidence)
- Academic writing skills (structuring essays, developing arguments, citing evidence)
- Academic math skills (Algebra 1, Geometry)
- Academic habits of mind
- Test-taking skills
Our Adult Secondary Education Students:
- Prepare for a high school equivalency test (HiSET and/or GED)
- Earn high school diplomas
- Makeup missing high school credits
- Prepare for college
- Prepare for career training
- Prepare for employment
