COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This competency-based course is designed to provide the essential information needed by student radiographers to pass the state certification examinations in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology and Fluoroscopy. This course also develops the necessary skills and abilities needed to meet the requirements of their job description and provide optimal patient care. Along with didactic instruction, students are prepared clinically in healthcare facilities with instructor and staff member supervision. Passing the state examination will allow graduates to work as radiologic technologists under a supervising licentiate. The competencies in this course are aligned with the California High School Academic Content Standards and the California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards.

Pre-Requisites Radiologic Technologist Program:

1. X-ray Limited License

2. AA/AS degree or BA/BS degree in any subject area
