Legal Services:

The California Department of Social Services funds qualified community-based organizations to provide free legal services and community education to immigrants who live in California. Legal services include access to information and application assistance for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Naturalization, Affirmative Immigration Remedies (AIR), Removal Defense (RD), and services for Immigrant Youth (IY). Mental Health

Nutrition Assistance in Los Angeles 

If you are in immediate need of food assistance, please dial 2-1-1 from a phone and speak with someone about services available in your area (2-1-1 is a three-digit dialing code, similar to 4-1-1). Lines are open 24 hours a day. Most but not all areas provide 2-1-1 phone support. See the flyers below for more information on nutrition assistance and foodbank locations.

LA County Parks provides the following food safety net service programs for youth, teens, and seniors. These food programs are:

  • Free Youth Snack Program at 48 parks (Monday - Friday @ 3 pm-4 pm) — ages 17 and under.
  • Free Hot Supper (Dinner) Teen Program at 16 parks (Monday - Friday @ 7 pm) — ages 12 to 18 years old. (Per program requirements, the supper meal must be eaten on campus)
  • Free Senior Food Program for older adults at 9 parks (Monday - Friday @ 11am-1 pm) – age 60+
